Call for abstracts submissions

The submission deadline is Friday, 12 December 2025, at 23:59 hrs.

It is our pleasure to invite you to submit an abstract for the Scientific Spring Meeting 2026, which will take place in Arnhem, the Netherlands, on 31 March and 1 April.

Note: abstract submission BaMa symposium deadline is Sunday, 15 February 2026 at 23:59 hrs.
*Submitting/presenting an abstract does not exempt you from registration costs. Therefore, do not forget to register as a participant. 

Submission guidelines

On behalf of the Scientific Committee, we would like to thank you for your interest in submitting an abstract for the Scientific Spring Meeting 2026. The abstract will be judged on following guidelines. Please read carefully before writing your abstract.

  1. All abstracts must be submitted in ENGLISH. The language during all scientific sessions will be English unless stated otherwise.

  1. The following items have to be covered in the abstract:
    a. Introduction: describe research background, the working definition and/or hypothesis.
    b. Methods: applied methods, including number of micro organisms and/or patients.
    c. Results: please present a summary of the most important results based on sufficient quantitative and statistical data. Statements like “to be completed” will not be accepted.
    d. Conclusion: please present a conclusion based on the results. Statements like “the results will be discussed” will not be accepted.
  2. All abbreviations have to be written in full and explained upon first use.
  3. Format:
    a. Title: maximum 25 words, provide a short clear title reflecting the content of the abstract, no abbreviations in the title. Use generic names only, no commercial names.
    b. Abstract: maximum 300 words excluding title, authors and affiliations. Please note: it’s NOT allowed to include images in your abstract.

General guidelines

  • Type of presentation: Abstracts can be selected for oral or poster presentation.
    ▪ Oral presentation: Accepted abstracts will be organized into thematic sessions.
    ▪ Poster presentation: Authors selected for a poster presentation will be asked to produce a poster. During the poster sessions authors are required to be present in their time slot to  present their poster.
  • Abstracts, submitted after the deadline date, will NOT be accepted.
  • Latest end of February 2026 the author will receive notification of acceptance.
  • The presenting author will be required to register for the Congress by March 1, 2026 in order to have the abstract acceptance confirmed. If a presenting author is not registered by March 1, 2026, the Scientific Committee will remove the abstract from the program.
  • All abstracts will be reviewed, scored, and accepted or rejected by the Scientific Committee. The Committee reserves the right to determine whether an abstract submission is accepted as an oral presentation or poster.
